As a scientist, I am passionate about the transformative power of machine learning in helping us tackle the most challenging and impactful problems in the world today, by creating powerful AI systems that benefit humanity.

I have led the development and/or helped create a number of state-of-the-art AI systems, with a particular focus on applications in science and healthcare, as well as numerous methodological advances in fundamental research to help unlock these abilities. Recently, my focus has been on generative AI and the development of large language models (LLMs), and their applications.
