My interests are the management of chronic pain. This includes best practice in synthesizing the available evidence of the effectiveness of interventions and the mechanisms of chronic back pain. I have interests in the development of clinical practice guidelines and was on the guideline development group of the NICE guidelines for the management of low back pain and sciatica (NG59). I am joint Co-ordinating editor of the Cochrane Pain, Palliative and Supportive Care review group (PaPaS).
