Bio
My current research focuses on tephra field mapping, stratigraphy and sedimentology to reconstruct past explosive eruptions. This includes (1) quantification of eruption parameters from Plinian fallouts integrated with three-dimensional textural analyses of pumice to infer magma physical conditions before/at fragmentation. (2) Ash origin, fragmentation, and morphology to infer eruption mechanism. (3) Social outflow of geological knowledge to communities living under volcanic risk.
