Bio
Narcisa Vrinceanu received her License in Chemical Engineering in 1993 from “Gh.Asachi” Technical University of Iasi and her PhD title in the same topic from Textile Chemical Technology Department, Gh.Asachi” Technical University of Iasi, in 19.03.2009. Her autonomy degree is proven by the scientific record (both articles and book chapters, 51 according to Publons), most of them closely related to the field of the proposal, dealing with photocatalysts, textile processing and coating, development of new properties in textiles. The importance of the scientific experience can be stressed by this factual element, meaning the adequate experience and scientific achievements related to the field, which are presented in a quantitative manner: h-index - 7, according to the Scopus data base, mobility on projects and bilateral collaborations, inter-academic cooperation (coordinating also the students), with the themes as follows: “Alternative Polymeric eco-composites with performance in friction”, „The Development and Validation of o research database made of nanofibres based system with different surface architectures”, Research postdoc fellowship with Post-doc theme: Photocatalytic oxidic nano-coatings for protection the fibrous substrates, previously microstructured by laser irradiation, July 2010-March 2013; Bilateral Cooperation project Romania - Italy, 2013-2014, "Peptaibiotics, an alternative to beta-lactam antibiotics: design, synthesis, bioactivity and textile functionalization" no.3795/2012, UEFISCDI; IAAA MC project „50% Reduction of Brake Wear Particulate Matter”, 2014-2016; CEEX Excellence Research Contract “Biophotonic nanotehnologies applied in textile industry with benefic effects onto human organsim, by “biofotontex” garments”. Narcisa Vrinceanu has a large experience in the field of textile. She is researcher with an experience of more than 15 years in the advanced textile development, with applications in Textile Chemistry and in Nanotechnologies applied in these domains. Since 2010, she has as main research activity the fight with pollution and pollutants working in sensing, detection, degradation and pollution minimization research fields independent and sometimes together in collaborative works. Her expertise reveals a continuous concern in improving the performance of different fibrous substrates, by chemical and physical modifying of their surfaces, through some tailoring routes: laser and plasma irradiation, deposition of synthesized nanoparticles, activation and modification of oriented polymers, the mechanism of tailoring and optimizing the processes, their identification and characterization, the analysis of surface topo-chemical modification using advanced methods and surface analytical techniques, catalytic experiments. She has published more than 46 scientific papers, which most of them fall directly to the scientific area of the proposed project, providing scientific autonomy and visibility (among them, more than a half are published as main author) in ISI indexed journals aiming at direct applications of nanomaterials applied onto textiles supports for water purification applications, smart materials with antibacterial attributes, and clothing with enhanced comfort. Narcisa Vrinceanu is one of the best in Romania, in the field of photocatalytic textiles field. Textile engineering for environmental applications was never in Romania a priority topic in any recent call although it is a very important domain for real life applications. More than that, Narcisa Vrinceanu is quite young scientist in the field, since she defended her PhD in 2009. Working mainly on a such Romanian research niche topic, her achievements are actually quite remarkable for 10 years of post-doctoral activity.
