Research Interest:
Transient phenomena on the Sun and their possible impacts on the heliosphere. They are basically what we call coronal mass ejections (CMEs) and flares, but their relationship is not well understood. In physics terms, do we really know the role of magnetic reconnection (resulting in heating and particle acceleration, i.e., flares) in triggering the rapid acceleration of CMEs?
