Mukul S. Bansal received the PhD degree in computer science from Iowa State University, in 2009. He is an associate professor with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Connecticut, USA. His research interests include computational biology and bioinformatics, with an emphasis on computational molecular evolution. He was an Edmond J. Safra postdoctoral fellow with the School of Computer Science, Tel Aviv University until December 2010, and a postdoctoral associate with the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, Massachusetts Institute of Technology until August 2013.
