His research interests centre on acute leukaemias and stem cell transplantation, focusing particularly on developments which improve the safety of this intensive form of treatment.
He has published over 160 articles in peer reviewed journals and completed several years on the editorial board of the journal 'Bone marrow transplantation'. He is a current executive member of the British Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation and has been an inspector for JACIE, an international transplant accreditation organisation.
