I designed and validated the first real-time risk assessment model for thyroid cancer management in which individual risk estimates are modified over time as a function of response to initial therapy. My research continues to center on important management aspects of thyroid cancer, including efforts to better define:
The risk of recurrence and death from thyroid cancer for individual patients
The role of active surveillance in properly selected patients with low-risk papillary thyroid cancer
The proper application of minimalistic management options to better tailor the intensity of therapy and follow-up to the risks of undesirable outcomes
My clinical practice is entirely devoted to the evaluation and management of patients with thyroid cancer.
