Bio
Dr. Chan is the co-director of the Gamma Knife Radiosurgery program at Wake Forest University, which is among the country's busiest and academically productive radiosurgery programs. Current research interests include radiation-induced neurocognitive decline and special populations such as patients with multiple sclerosis, collagen vascular diseases, and neurofibromatosis that may be more susceptible to normal tissue injury with radiosurgery. Dr. Chan is the lead investigator of a clinical trial using pioglitazone as a cytoprotective agent against radiation brain injury, and also co-PI on two randomized multi-institutional trials.
