Research Interests
Automated Reasoning and Data Analysis
With a colleague in Computer Science, we are developing a hybrid system for data analysis by embedding symbolic reasoners in statistical software.
Virtual Worlds
A number of virtual worlds are being developed to enrich the experience of students in service courses and to provide them with a holistic appreciation of their studies. Some of these have arisen naturally from technologies developed by other groups, such as the Centre for Plant Architecture Informatics.
OStats
OStats is a statistical package designed for teaching and learning data analysis. It is being developed to give students easy access to sophisticated visual and analytical tools but without overwhelming them with output. It is also being used in conjunction with the automated reasoning and reliability modelling projects described above.
