Dr. Mesfin Sahle Achemo is a research fellow at the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies. He has been a JSPS-UNU Postdoctoral Fellow at the United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (01 November 2019 – 31 October 2021). He holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Planning (2018), MSc in Geoinformation Science (2011), and BA in Geography and Enviromental Studies (2008) from Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia. Mesfin's research interests include geospatial analysis, ecosystem services quantification and mapping, cultural landscape, food security, climate change mitigation, landscape planning, and scenario development. He has experience as an Assistant Professor at Wolkite University and GIS and Remote sensing expert in geospatial institutions in Ethiopia.
