Meriadeg Ar Gouilh

The ecology and the evolution of viruses are core subjects of my research. I have a particular interest in the impact of the environment on virus fitness and in processes driving viruses to cross species-borders (including wildlife, domestic animals and human). My background in ecology, diversification / speciation processes and host-parasite coevolution drive my research toward an integrative and OneHealth approach that combines evolutionary biology concepts, phylogenetics, multi-scale ecology, metagenomics and molecular biology for the study of viral evolution and emergence. Actually, I am involved in several projects aiming at developing and implementing methods for the study of in-host microbial / viral genetics based on hybrid NGS approaches (long & short read sequencing).
