Mehmetcan Akbulut

Mehmetcan Akbulut (M’05–SM’97) received the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN, in 2005. He has held research and development roles in various industry and university settings over the past decade. He is currently with NP Photonics Inc., Tucson, AZ, working on high energy and high power phosphate-glass pulsed fiber laser and amplifier systems. He has authored or co-authored over 40 publications during this time. His research interests include fiber lasers and amplifiers, ultrafast optics and photonics, microwave photonics, remote sensing, and optical fiber telecommunications. Dr. Akbulut is a member of the IEEE Photonics Society and the Optical Society.
