The main current scientific interests of Dr. Forti are in the field of nonlinear circuit theory, with emphasis on the dynamical analysis of nonlinear circuits that model artificial neural networks. He is author of more than 100 international publications, 69 of which in international journals (37 in Transactions of the IEEE). The main topics of the scientific publications include the following: a) new methods for addressing trajectory convergence and absolute stability of various classes of dynamic neural networks; b) new techniques for studying global stability of dynamic neural networks that are applicable in the general non-symmetric case; c) characterization of bifurcations, oscillations and complex dynamics in classes of neural networks and robustness of convergence and stability with respect to perturbations; d) design of innovative neural architectures for solving nonlinear programming problems and optimization problems; e) methods for analysing nonlinear circuits with memristors and use of memristors in neuromorphic architectures; f) various aspects of electromagnetic compatibility in the power distribution network.
