个人简介
Matthias Golling was born in Sulz/Neckar, Germany, in 1971. He received the Dipl.-Ing. and Dr.-Ing. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Ulm, Ulm, Germany, in 1997 and 2004, respectively. In 1996, he was with NTT Optoelectronic Labs, Ibaraki, Japan, investigating erbium-doped waveguides. Since 2002 he has been with the Institute of Quantum Electronics, ETH Zurich, Switzerland. During the first year at ETH his research interests were focused on the crystal growth of high-speed electronic and optoelectronic devices with molecular beam epitaxy. The growth of both laser structures and record saturable absorber structures (SESAMs) on GaAs dominated the following years. Since 2019 his research broadened to the growth of GaSb-based materials to transfer the successful laser technology to the 2-micrometer wavelength range and above.
