Matthew Eichenfield received the B.S. degree in physics from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, NV, USA, in 2004, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in physics from the California Institute of Technology, in 2007 and 2009, respectively. His Ph.D. dissertation on nano-optomechanical systems. From 2009 to 2011, he was a Kavli Nanoscience Prize Postdoctoral Scholar with the California Institute of Technology. In 2011, he became a Harry S. Truman Fellow with the Sandia National Laboratories, where he became a Principal Physicist when the fellowship ended in 2014. His research interests include the intersection between photonics, MEMS, and RF acoustics in scalable platforms. Dr. Eichenfield was a recipient of the Demitriades Award for Best Caltech thesis in the field of nanotechnology.
