Massimo Bonavita

Massimo Bonavita received a Master's degree in physics from the University of Rome, Rome, Italy, in 1992, a Master's degree in meteorology from the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, CA, USA, in 2001, and the Ph.D. degree in remote sensing from the University of Rome in 2015. He has worked in Numerical Weather Prediction and Data Assimilation first at the Italian Air Force Weather Service, and from 2009, at the European Center for Medium Range Weather Forecast (ECMWF), Reading, U.K., where he currently leads the Data Assimilation Methodology Team. His current research interests include ensemble and variational data assimilation, nonlinear effect in data assimilations, and error simulation techniques.
