Dr. Galluzzi’s research interests regard mainly the quantitative characterization of mechanical, electrical and morphological properties by Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM). He is interested in force spectroscopy coupled with morphology on a broad range of materials, especially soft: polymers, hydrogels and their composites. Thin film investigation with nanoparticles metrology applied to nanostructured electrodes, graphene-based structures. In the thin film field, Dr. Galluzzi is also interested in nanoscale impedance spectroscopy by conductive AFM for conductivity or dielectric properties investigation, for example, thin film of Ionic Liquids. Finally, Dr. Galluzzi is analyzing the morpho-mechanical properties of biological relevant systems: from nanoscale structures like membranes, lipid bilayers and proteins to micro-scale objects like bacteria, living cells and tissues.
