个人简介
Much of my research concerns the mineral relations of higher plants and now concentrates on two elements- aluminium (aluminum in the US!) and silicon. Many aspects of my work involve electron microscopy, and particularly x-ray microanalysis, which is a technique for the localisation of mineral elements at the cellular and subcellular level. My interests in plant mineral relations have led me to collaborate with scientists from a variety of disciplines- chemistry, archaeology, cancer research, food science. One area which arose from my teaching is my work on soils and environmental impact assessment. My other area of interest is a collaboration with the Freshwater Habitats Trust, looking at the biology of temporary ponds. I also provide a complete listing of my publications to date.
