Maria Alexandra Teodosio is an Associate Professor with aggregation in the University of Algarve, Portugal, where she is one of the coordinators of the research group Ecoreach, Ecology and Restoration of Riverine, Estuarine and Coastal habitats from the Marine Sciences Centre (CCMAR) https://www.ccmar.ualg.pt/users/mchichar , http://www.ccmar.ualg.pt/group/ecology-and-restoration-riverine-estuarine-and-coastal-habitats ). She is an Associate Editor of the Estuarine Coastal Shelf Science Journal. She is also a researcher in Centre of Marine Sciences and a member of the Board. She is involved in the supervision of 10 Ph.D. students, 25 M.S. students, and over 30 undergraduates, thesis targeting ecology of coastal areas, in temperate, subtropical and tropical ecosystems. Alexandra Teodosio (previous name Alexandra Chicharo) has been developing research in marine ecology at the CCMAR, and her major research interests include feeding ecology from jellies to sea turtles in coastal ecosystems and the effects of global changes, namely, species invasions, jellyfish blooms and acidification in planktonic and benthonic communities. She is a Member of the Expertpanel BIO3: Biodiversity and Ecology of the Research Foundation-Flanders and has been involved in 22 European- and national-funded research projects. She has published over 100 peer-reviewed research articles and has contributed to six book chapters, recently published as co-editor the book Zooplankton Ecology CRC Press
