He served at different positions at Technical University of Berlin, Germany. He served as Research Director of Distribution Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at TU Berlin guiding six different competence centers with 60+ full time researchers. He also led the research group of future communications network that focused on implanting intelligence in different generations of mobile networks. Amongst others, he was the technical lead of Germany’s flagship research projects towards autonomous driving, Diginet-PS, trial site leader for EU project 5G-MOBIX, and country coordinator for large scale Celtic 5G eHealth project. His main research interests include: Autonomous driving, 5G mobile networks, IoT, and different smart city application domains. He has been active in introducing learning approaches to the aforementioned domains. He has also been involved in development of large scale demonstrators. He was the recipient of several best paper awards, best performance, gold medals, and appreciation certificates. Dr. Khan is the author of several scientific publications including conference papers, journal articles, and book chapters.
