His main research interests are heterogeneous catalysis, carbon materials, environment, energy, biomass Conversion, chemical Reaction engineering, functional materials and smart textiles. In these areas, he has supervised 20 PhD (13 concluded) and 70 master students; coordinated 21 R&D projects and participated in other 23; published 290 scientific papers in ISI journals, 9 book chapters, more than 300 presentations in scientific meetings and 3 patents pending.
