The differentiation of heterocysts in filamentous cyanobacteria generates one of the simplest examples of true multicellular organisms. My research focuses on post-transcriptional regulation exerted by non-coding RNAs. During my PhD I characterized small RNAs. Then, during my first period of postdoc, I have studied the regulation exerted by antisense RNAs. At this moment, I am currently working on my own Humbold project focused on the identification of novel RNA binding proteins.
