Malcolm Taberner

Malcolm Taberner received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in environmental remote sensing from Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, in 1986 and 1988, respectively. From 1989 to 1998, he was with Bristol University. Initially working on various European desertification projects, he joined the Centre for Remote Sensing in 1995 and worked mainly in the fields of meteorology and hydrology and mainly in passive microwave remote sensing. In 1999 he joined the European Commission, DG Joint Research Centre, Institute for Environment and Sustainability, Global Environment Monitoring Unit, Ispra, Italy, on global monitoring issues. His interests include research on characterizing surface properties and algorithm development, across the remote sensing spectrum.
