Doctor of Philosophy in biology, specialisation in ecology within main focus on understanding ecosystem functioning of nutrient removal in freshwater systems by using aquatic plants and associated microbes. One of my specific research interests is to investigate the concomitant effect climate change and other stressors e.g. land uses, nutrients and other pollutants on aquatic biota and ecosystem functions. Previously, I looked at effect of abiotic factors e.g. temperature, humic substances, stream flow, nutrients on aquatic plant growth and plant-invertebrate, plant-microbe interactions and ecosystem functioning in aquatic ecosystems, including, sub-arctic wetlands.
