个人简介
Dr. Michel Van Roozendael is Head of the Atmospheric Reactive Gases Division and Leader of the UV-Vis DOAS Research group at the Royal Belgian Institute for Space Aeronomy (BIRA-IASB). For more than 25 years, he has developed research activities addressing the study of the atmospheric composition based on spectroscopic remote-sensing methods. His main interest is on the development of instrumentation and retrieval methods for the detection of atmospheric trace gases applied to observations from ground-based, aircraft and satellite platforms. In particular he has been strongly involved in the development and exploitation of the successive UV-Vis missions GOME, SCIAMACHY, GOME-2, OMI and TROPOMI/S5P. For more than 10 years, he has also co-chaired the UV-Visible working group of the Network for the Detection of Atmospheric Composition Change (NDACC).
During his career at BIRA-IASB, M. Van Roozendael has been involved in over 80 international projects on atmospheric composition studies. He is currently Science Leader of the ESA Ozone Climate Change Initiative project and involved in a number of parallel research activities dealing with the development of the ESA atmospheric Sentinel missions and related Cal/Val activities. Since the early nineties, he has authored or co-authored approximately 150 publications in the peer-reviewed international literature. He is also associate editor for Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics (ACP) and Atmospheric Measurement Techniques (AMT).
