Research interests
Small intestine physiology, in particular study of human serum Diamino Oxidase as a marker of mucosal integrity in small intestine diseases. Poliamines metabolism in the perfused intestine, particularly hystamine and putrescine.
Tissue specific processing of fibronectin mRNA in human tissues and coltured cell lines. Study of alternative splicing patterns of the ED-B domain and of the mechanisms leading to its regulation.
Leucin zipper and helix-loop-helix proteins and growth arrest. Involvement of CHOP and Id proteins in growth arrest.
Tyrosine kinases role after PDGF and other growth factors stimulation. Use of microinjection techniques to define the signalling pathways in which Src family tyrosine kinases and PI3 Kinase are involved.
RET/PTC signal transduction pathways in thyroid trasformation. Differential involvement of the Rho and Rac small GTP binding proteins in RET/PTC signaling
Cell motion and adhesion in relation with extracellular matrix and oncogene trasformation. Video time lapse assay to study functionally cells trasformed by single oncogenes.
Role of food proteins in development of disease. Gliadin induction of specific signal transduction pathways both in normal and in Celiac Disease subjects.
