Marina Stepanova

Dr. Marina V. Stepanova finished the Lomonosov Moscow State University in 1988 (Vernov Award) , starting her career at the Skobeltsyn Institute of Nuclear Physics at Lomonosov Moscow State University in Russia. At the age of 28 years she moved to Chile and joined the Department of Physics at the University of Santiago in 1995. Her research interests are focused on astrophysical and space plasmas, with a particular emphasis on the dynamics of the Earth's magnetosphere and the physics of geomagnetic storms and substorms. She has also specialized in fundamental aspects of plasma physics, including turbulence and plasma equilibrium.
