Glasser is best known for his work mapping the 180 areas of each human cerebral cortical hemisphere using multiple MRI modalities as a part of the Human Connectome Project (HCP). This decade-long effort required a wholesale reimagining of many brain imaging acquisition, analysis and data sharing methods, which now comprise the HCP’s approach to brain imaging.
