个人简介
Our current interest is focused on geographic variation in seedling defence, work currently funded by the Leverhulme Trust and with Lucille Chrétien at the helm. This follows successful investigation of the release of volatile cues by seedlings and their detection by invertebrate herbivores (seedling volatiles), also funded by Leverhulme. More generally, understanding the causes and consequences of seedling selection by herbivores great and small remain pivotal the the group’s work
Floral resource availability and its influence on pollinator activity and abundance, is fundamental to our understanding of pollinator service provision. Our ongoing research focuses on how the cultivation of bio-energy and mass flowering crops influences pollinators in the arable environment and the use of garden plant species by different urban pollinators. Past work also includes studies on floral evolution in bird-pollinated plants.
