Marc Bissonnette, MD, is a gastroenterologist with research interests in colon and colorectal cancer. Dr. Bissonnette has a particular interest in the use of drugs or dietary agents to prevent, delay or reverse the development of cancer.

Currently, he is involved in the development of a sensitive blood test for colorectal cancer detection with the ultimate goal to deploy this test on Chicago’s South Side to reduce health care disparities. He is also focused on interactions between diet and the body’s defense system in colon cancer development.
