M. S. Bhatia was born in New Delhi, India, on October 6, 1954. He received the B.E. degree in electrical engineering from Delhi College of Engineering, New Delhi, in 1977 and the Ph.D. degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, New Delhi, in 1993. Currently, he is heading the Beam Electronics and Application Section, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai, India. His major fields of study are electron-beam technology, lasers, and plasma devices. He has published several papers on diverse topics in refereed journals.
