Luiz Carlos Federizzi currently works at the Departamento de Plantas de Lavoura, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul. Luiz does research in Genetics and Plant Breeding of Oat for sub tropical environments. Most of projects are related to traits of importance as : wide adaptations to subtropical environments, early maturity , resistance to diseases , grain yield and grain quality and development of oat cultivars that fulfill the farmers and consumers needs. Our oats cultivars have a very good share of the Brazilian market and are also grown in Argentina,Uruguay and India.
