My main lines of research focus on the sustainable and optimal recovery of previously discarded marine biomass and by-products of the fish processing industry under the marine biorefinery methodology. In addition, I am leading an emerging research line on the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) innovations to marine resources management, mainly on their use on the automatic, real-time quantification and identification of the total catch on-board fishing vessels.
