L. M. Garcia-Raffi

My research activity started in an institution devoted to Nuclear and Particle Physics, Instituto de Física Corpuscular (CSIC-UVEG). There it began my training as a researcher and it is the palce where I finished my PhD in Physics in 1995. The other key moment in my career was when I decided move to the Applied Mathematics Department at Universidad Politecnica de Valencia. Then I began a new period of personal training that concluded with my PhD in Applied Mathematics in 2003. My research interest turns around three key points: 1-) Research in Mathematics, devoted to function aproximation and modelling. 2-) Research in Physics, devoted to Phononic Crystals and propagation in periodic media, Metamaterials, Nonlinear Physics,... 3-) Didactics, focused in the use of Mathematical Modelling in teaching.
