个人简介
Prof. Tesio is mostly interested a) in the interplay across neurophysiology, biomechanics and rehabilitation of human movement, and b) in measurements, trial design, statistics and psychometrics when applied to the whole-person level. His early background is in experimental neurophysiology, muscle and gait biomechanics, and bioengineering. Along with his career, he came across the Institute of Human Physiology of the University of Milan, the Istituto Neurologico “Carlo Besta”, the Geriatric Institute Pio Albergo Trivulzio, the Depts. of Rehabilitation of the teaching hospitals Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan, and the Fondazione Salvatore Maugeri in Pavia. In his research studies, he’s placing special emphasis on the development of original methods of exercise and of diagnosis and assessment of motor impairments, including multifactorial gait analysis, dynamic posturography, isokinetic force measurement, non-invasive electric and magnetic brain stimulation. Typical clinical conditions faced in his research and clinical experience are Multiple Sclerosis, post-stroke syndromes, post-surgical brain and spinal cord lesions, back pain, and complex orthopaedic conditions (e.g. multiple traumas, lower limb amputations and the rotationplasty salvage procedure). He established international collaborations with researchers from Belgium, France, Israel, UK, US. He authored over 110 articles in international Journals, 20 Book chapters, 4 book translations and 2 original books. H-Index: WoS 27, Scopus 29, Google Scholar 33.
