She worked in the intensive care and emergency medicine department of the hospital. Dr Fleming conducted research on parental management of adrenal crisis in children with congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) at Duke University and the School of Nursing at the University of North Carolina, and developed several educational tools related to adrenal crisis, including training videos, mobile medical applications and many manuals on prevention and management of adrenal crisis.
