Liang Zhao

My research interests focus primarily on the applications of metabolomics in biological research. Current research includes applying both untargeted and targeted metabolomics approaches to explore the biological functions of metabolites. I am also interested in applying stable isotope labeling approach to study enzyme function, pathway dependence. I am familiar with different types of mass spectrometers and has extensive experience of applying these analytical tools in metabolomics and proteomics studies. My longer-term goals are focusing on the integration of mass spectrometry, biology and bioinformatics to address the biological importance of metabolites and proteins (including PTMs), and to better understand their roles in human disease and treatment options.
