个人简介
I have a strong established reputation as a systematic reviewer, including publications in the BMJ and Cochrane Library and editorships of three journals. The impacts of my research include:
* systematic reviews on the effect of dietary change on cardiovascular health have been instrumental in developing UK health policy (eg, ‘Securing Our Future Health: Taking a Long-Term View - the Wanless Report’ (DH 2002) and ‘Salt and Health’ (SACN 2003, the basis for current UK policy of salt reduction in processed foods), Hooper et al, BMJ 2002.
* publication of a groundbreaking systematic review to assess the effects of omega 3 fats from fish and plant sources on mortality, cardiovascular outcomes and cancers, Hooper et al, BMJ 2006.
* Lee led development and publication of the first evidence based guidelines authorised by the British Dietetic Association, and two more recent updates Hooper et al, J. Hum Nutr Dietetics 2001, 2004, 2006.
My reputation for primary research in the area of food and older people is growing, as evidenced by my Career Development Fellowship and previous funded projects for which I was primary investigator from the Economic and Social Research Council and Norfolk County Council. I am an editor of ‘Quality in Ageing’, and have been awarded significant funding through several sources including a key role in an EU project, EURRECA.
