个人简介
Leandro was a Research Associate in the Public Health Modelling group at CEDAR, who left the Unit in June 2019.
With a background in physical activity, public health, and systems science, Leandro’s main research interests are the determinants of population levels and inequalities of physical activity, particularly in the leisure and transportation domains, and the consequent impacts on population health. He is also interested in the application of systems science to other public health topics and methodological developments to fully adapt the framework and methods of systems science to the particulars of public health research.
Leandro is currently working on TIGTHAT project, which will lay the scientific foundations of a health impact assessment tool to estimate health impacts of transport choices applicable in a wide variety of urban settings around the world. Within this project, he is leading two dose-response meta-analyses encompassing the relationship between physical activity and 46 disease endpoints (protocols here and here). He is also a collaborator on the SALURBAL (“SALud URBana en America Latina” – Urban Health in Latin America) project, which aims to learn from Latin America on what makes cities healthy, equitable and environmentally sustainable. In SALURBAL, Leandro has been applying systems thinking and modelling to study the links between urban environment, transportation, and health.
