Education Qualifications: MBBS, M Med (Internal Medicine), FAMS (Internal Medicine), FAMS (Rheumatology), FRCP (Edinburgh) Professor Fong Kok Yong was appointed Deputy Group Chief Executive Officer (Medical and Clinical Services), SingHealth from 1 July 2017. He is a Senior Consultant in Department of Rheumatology and Immunology at SGH. Professor Fong is also the Chairman of the Residency Advisory Committee for Rheumatology (Ministry of Health) and Member of the Residency Advisory Committee for Internal Medicine (Ministry of Health) since 2012. He is also the Associate Editor for APLAR Journal of Rheumatology since 2006 and for Singapore Medical Journal since 2008. He is a Fellow of Academy Medicine, Singapore in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology and Royal College of Edinburgh, UK. In recognition of his immense contributions and remarkable leadership, Professor Fong is the deserving recipient of many awards, among them the National Outstanding Clinician Award and the Seah Cheng Siang Professorship in Medicine. He was pivotal in the development of Rheumatology in Singapore, and established the SGH Autoimmunity and Rheumatology Centre in May 2013, which brought together quality patient care, education and research. He is a respected mentor to many clinicians and leaders, and has had more than 100 papers published in peer-reviewed journals.
