个人简介
I am an assistant professor with the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden and the Science for Life Laboratory on the Karolinska Institutet campus. I work on data analysis and machine learning tools for microscopic imagery. My research interests focus primarily on bioimage informatics, but also include classic computer vision problems including tracking, detection, segmentation, and feature design. I am also interested in developing active learning methods to speed up and improve classification on large data sets. I work with a variety of microscopy methods including brightfield, fluroescence, 2-photon, phase contrast, confocal, and electron microscopy. For more information, see my research page.
Previously, I was a research scientist with the Biozentrum at the University of Basel. I was a postdoc at the Scientific Center for Optical and Electron Microscopy at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zürich) and with the Computer Vision Laboratory (CVLAB) at EPFL. My PhD work on multi-target tracking, object representation, activity recognition, event detection, and tracking performance evaluation was done at EPFL and the IDIAP Research Institute. My undergraduate and masters degrees are from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), where I worked with the Image Formation and Processing group. I also collaborated with the Electronic Visualization Laboratory at UIC, where I developed a real-time hands-free tracking interface for Virtual Reality environments.
While finishing my PhD I wrote a tutorial on Reversible Jump Markov Chain Monte Carlo (RJMCMC) for multi-object tracking which some people have found helpful.
