Barnham has published over 200 scientific papers and is a consultant to local Biotech companies. The primary goal of the Barnham Laboratory (Neurotherapeutics) is to develop new drugs for neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. A number of these new drugs have demonstrated positive outcomes in multiple animal models of these diseases and more importantly have shown promise in subsequent human clinical trials.
