个人简介
Kent R. Nilsson received the bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Virginia in 1996 before matriculating at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. There he received both the master’s degree in biochemistry, cellular and molecular biology (2001) and a Doctorate in Medicine (2002). He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Johns Hopkins Hospital (2005) before moving to Durham, NC, where he completed fellowships in cardiology (2008) and cardiac electrophysiology (2010) at Duke University Medical Center. He also completed a post-doctoral fellowship in cellular biology and biochemistry at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (2009).
Following completion of his fellowships, he remained on the faculty at Duke until 2013, when he moved to Athens, GA, to establish a complex ablation program and help found the medical school at the University of Georgia. He is currently an Associate Professor of Medicine. In addition to his responsibilities at UGA, he currently serves as Director of Clinical Research at the Athens Regional Medical Center and Chief-Medical Officer of InfraredRx, Inc., a biotechnology company devoted to improving exercise capacity in patients with cardiovascular diseases.
