个人简介
Trained as a maternal child health and social epidemiologist, Dr. Hall's research program uses social justice and health equity perspectives, multi-level and biopsychosocial frameworks, and interdisciplinary methods to study the social and structural determinants of maternal health and health disparities in the U.S. and Africa. One major research theme entails evaluating the effects of social and health policies, and other macro and systems factors, on preconception health, maternal morbidity, mortality, and reproductive health equity and rights. Her >15 years of clinical experience as a family and women's health advanced practice nurse informed her other theme focused on integrated care models and implementation science approaches to addressing the intersections of reproductive, mental, and behavioral health, and the roles of toxic social stress, adversity, and environment, for women across the life course.
Dr. Hall serves on the Editorial Boards of the Maternal Child Health Journal and Contraception; Board of Directors of the Society for Family Planning; and recently on the Executive Committee of the National Medical Committee of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, and as Section Counselor for APHA's Population, Sexual and Reproductive Health (PSRH) Section. At Columbia, she serves on the CUIMC Anti-Racism Task Force; Mailman's Faculty Steering Committee; the Dean's FORWARD (Fighting Oppression, Racism and White Supremacy through Action, Research and Discourse) Accountability Cabinet, and on the Doctoral and Admissions Committees of the HDPFH. Dr. Hall has received numerous awards, including the APHA PSRH's Outstanding Young Professional; the Society of Adolescent Health and Medicine's Robert DuRant Statistical Rigor and Scientific Innovation in Adolescent Health Research Award; and most recently the Calderone Health Equity Award and the Tow Faculty Leadership Scholar Award from Columbia. In 2020, she was elected as an Emerging Leader in Health and Medicine from the National Academy of Medicine.
