I have great interests in the research activities of pediatric infectious diseases, vaccine study, viral pathogenesis and diagnostic microbiology. I have done a lot of clinical and microbiological studies especially in the field of human cytomegalovirus, Chlamydia (trachomatis and pneumoniae), Mycoplasma pneumoniae, HIV, human rotavirus, measles and rubella infections. Currently I am involved in the studies to evaluate the efficacy of the control programs for the elimination of trachoma, ocular Chlamydia trachomatis, cytomegalovirus and measles infections in some endemic areas of India or other Asian countries.
