K. Gopalakrishnan

Kanakasabapathi Gopalakrishnan received the B.Tech. degree in mechanical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, India, in 2000. He is currently working toward the Ph.D. degree in industrial engineering and operations research at University of California, Berkeley. He has worked on geometric and numerical algorithms for grasping/fixturing and part feeding, and is currently researching holding parts at concavities and holding deformable parts. Mr. Gopalakrishnan is the recipient of numerous awards including a Bronze Medal at the 37th International Mathematics Olympiad and the Best Manipulation Paper award at the IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation, 2004.
