Jun Shan Wey

Jun Shan Wey (M’95–SM’11) received the B.S. degree in electronics engineering from the National Chiao Tung University, Hsinchu, Taiwan, ROC, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering both from the University of Maryland, College Park, MD, USA. Since then, she has devoted her career to optical communications R&D, and in particular PON standardization. She is currently the Senior Director of Fixed Networks Technology Strategy and Standards with ZTE TX, Inc. Morristown, NJ, USA. Her prior affiliations include the Lab for Physical Sciences, Terabeam, Myrio, Siemens, Nokia Siemens Networks, Coriant, and Lightnote Consulting. She is active in FSAN and ITU-T Q2/15, and participates in the IEEE 802.3ca and 802.3cp. She serves as an Editor of G.Sup66 (PON for 5G transport), G.9806 (BiDi PtP optical access), G.hsp.comTC (common TC), and the first edition of G.989.2 (NG-PON2 PMD). She has been active in the OFC Technical Program Committee since 2015, as the OFC 2018 Optical Access Networks Subcommittee Chair and the OFC 2020 Network-Track Program Chair.
