Clinical faculty in the department of Pathology focus on improving patient care through development of new tests, interpretation of biopsies and laboratory results as well as the appropriate selection and use of laboratory tests. The research carried out by faculty in the pathology department leads to the publication of more than 100 peer-reviewed papers annually, numerous review articles, and text book chapters. These scholarly activities enhance the scientific credentials of the Department of Pathology and ARUP Laboratories as a whole.
