个人简介
I consider myself an experienced scientist in clinical genomics and R&D. I have brought novel diagnostic assays from concept to finished product, where various developments have been recognized by entities such as MIT Technological Reviews Innovator Under 35 and the BBC Latin America for conceptualizing ideas that would provide highly efficient and cost-effective genomic tests via PCR, NGS and novel bioinformatic pipelines. The projects that I have led were mainly focused on diagnostic assays for infectious fungal pathogens, prenatal cell free DNA detection developments, design of cell free DNA methylation detection in early colorectal and prostate cancer, implementation of novel pharmacogenomic testing platforms for population specific precision public health, as well as recombinant DNA technology for proteins and enzyme production for diagnostic kits. I am passionate on how underrepresented genomic sequences of Latin American patients may help to better understand global genomic diversity, an area where we strive to advance relationships between population admixtures, accurate genomic diagnostics and novel treatment designs/schemes. As a lab director, I analyzed and signed off several thousand genomic tests in rare disease genomics and molecular oncology. In parallel to my scientific efforts, I have leadership experience in Scientific Director roles, responsible for overseeing all development in addition to planning and executing business and regulatory tasks. I have had extensive interactions with multinational genomic and pharmaceutical companies, where I have served as an advisor for genomic testing techniques and strategies for patient access and discovery.
